We’re showing some gratitude on this special Thanksgiving episode of the Rusty Satellite Show, with my special guest co-host Stephanie White. She does her own podcast, Fortyish, with Dan Vonderheide right here on the Louisville.am network, and has a lot to say about being 40-ish, raising a family and not liking football.
The holiday is certainly an appropriate time to welcome in Stan Siegwald, from the Dare to Care Food Bank, which got its start when a 9-year-old boy died of starvation. The now 47-year-old organization now provides 20 million pounds of food per year to deserving and needy families, and Stan tells me how they do it.
Lyle Janes is a model of consistency, and a former model. Janes has been hosting his own cable access TV talk show for 18 years, and says the word most folks use to describe him is “nice.” I would agree, and really enjoyed our conversation about TV, comedy and his experience in the funeral business.
With Stephanie, we discuss her highly successful web site, Louisville Family Fun, plus the importance of giving back as we celebrate Thanksgiving. And surprisingly, she’s got a prediction on Saturday’s big rivalry game at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, ever though her sport is soccer. I’m thankful, and grateful, to all of you for tuning in to the Rusty Satellite Show every week.
