Jill Bell of Passport and the Derby Festival

It’s all about Derby from now until the first Saturday in May, and Rusty’s Most Interesting Guests take you behind the scenes of the magic that is the Derby Festival and Churchill Downs. Jill Bell first got involved in the Derby Festival as a college intern, and some years later she’s built a career in corporate communications at Passport Health Plan and sits (though there’s not much sitting) on the board of the organization. Darren Rogers grew up in California, but has learned to love the city while doing a demanding job – keeping 2,000 media members happy and entertained at Churchill Downs Derby Week.  And he’s got a great story about a horse entered in this year’s race.

Two Rusty alumni are featured in the news — Claudia Coffey has left the anchor desk at WHAS-TV and is looking for a new career opportunity, and you can bet it will be here in her hometown. Joe Arnold is still at WHAS-TV, but is now hosting his own weekly political show, “The Powers that Be,” on Saturday mornings. LEO has a new list of 20-somethings making things happen. The fallout from an Ethics Committee hearing in Frankfort has shaken things up there. And the new additions at Churchill Downs are a sight to behold.

It’s all in this week’s episode of The Rusty Satellite Show.
