There aren’t many weeks in which more big events are going on — and Rusty is here to help make sure you don’t miss anything. Let’s start with this week’s most interesting people.
My first guest is Eric Gregory, who is living proof that majoring in journalism can lead to gainful employment in the bourbon industry. Eric is the executive director of the Kentucky Distillers Association, and is busy keeping track of and hosting events associated with the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown. I stopped in at the Bourbon Hall of Fame luncheon, which was honoring Makers Mark’s Bill Samuels,
Up next is Dawn Beahl, who is hosting a huge fundraiser for Office Nick Rodman on Friday. Rodman was the officer who died in March after a criminal rammed his squad car. He left behind and wife and two young children. Beahl, the wife of a police officer who was close to the Rodmans, is expecting up to 1,000 people at the Fairgrounds Friday.
I’ve got a Dan Johnson update, and another opportunity to question Gov. Bevin’s logic. But the big news is the game at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium Saturday between the Cards, ranked 14th, and #3 Clemson. ESPN is here for GameDay, and we learned this week where the Unitas statue is going. Among the events around town are the Gaslight Festival in Jtown and the Jug Band Jubilee on the Waterfront.
