We loved 2016 here at Rusty Satellite Show headquarters, and enjoyed meeting and introducing you to about 100 of the most interesting people in the ‘Ville.

So this week I brought in two great friends of the show to talk about it — Bill Brymer, ace photographer who has been with me on many Rusty Satellite interviews, and Jackie Bentley, who posts most stories on LouisvilleKY.com. Together we talk about the big issues of 2016 — the election, Lamar Jackson, violent crime in the city, Muhammad Ali’s funeral and the building of two new bridges.

We also review the highlights of 51 weekly shows and the amazing, interesting guests that have either been to the studio or that we’ve met around town. We certainly agreed that my talk with John Ramsey, friend of Muhammad, was a highlight for the show. Bill also mentions a few notable musicians – Harry Pickens and Hickory Vaught, as well as the amazing Yascone sisters, who sang to us at Derby time.

Of course, one big event occurred in May, with the launch of our sister web site and podcast – EatDrinkTalk. That helped introduce me to many well-known individuals from the eating and drinking space — including John Varanese, Marianne Barnes and Bobby Benjamin. There were leaders in business, politics, sports and the arts as well, and we squeeze in as many as we can on this name-dropping exercise.

I hope you enjoy the podcast – it’s a labor of love for me, and I want to thank all the folks who help make it possible, including our wonderful sponsors Passport Health Plans and the Eye Care Institute.
