Rusty visits with two more of the most interesting people in the ‘Ville — Dr. John Gilderbloom and Mark Hebert. Both are good friends of the show, and in fact Hebert’s appearance marks the first time in 41 shows there has been a repeat guest, and there’s a good reason for that.
Gilderbloom, who lives in a unique Highlands home called “The Painted Lady”, is an accomplished author who has a passion for his work in improving life in his adopted city. He tells me about the advantages of changing Louisville’s one-way streets to two-way, including how it is proven to reduce crime, a topic that’s on everyone’s mind right now.
Hebert enjoyed a “Bucket List” kind of week, learning that he’s being inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame and on Monday night rolling a perfect 300 game in our Ten Pin bowling league. It only took him 46 years of practice to do it. We also talked about his cool job at the University of Louisville.
There’s news of interest about the impact of violence on downtown, the end of the Kentucky legislative session and I recall the 1974 tornado on its 40th anniversary.
