Bill DeReamer’s Fun with Flugtag; 39 Steps is a Big Leap for Nathan Keepers

What kind of person would send a craft off a 100-foot platform 22 feet above the surface toward the Ohio River? Bill DeReamer, the helicopter pilot for WLKY-TV, is part of a team doing just that for the Red Bull Flugtag competition set for August 27 at Waterfront Park. I talk with Bill about that and changes in news coverage for helicopters in an interesting interview.

On Aug. 30, Actors Theatre will raise the curtain on “39 Steps” and it will mark Nathan Keepers’ debut as a director at Actors. Keepers describes his excitement about the project in the midst of intense rehearsals as he prepares to present the Hitchcock thriller/slapstick comedy.

My big news — I cut the cord, canceling my Dish Network subscription, but it doesn’t mean I’ll be watching less TV, only higher quality programs, like “Stanger Things” on Netflix. There’s plenty of restaurant news over at EatDrinkTalk.net, including news of an ownership change at a downtown hotspot and the hiring of a critic by a restaurant operator. And, I discuss the New Kentucky Project, which hopes to force changes in politics in the Commonwealth. All in a great episode of the Rusty Satellite Show.
