Are you ready for some football? And are you ready for some of the country’s most spectacular country and rock and roll performers right here in Louisville?
You’ll hear all about both on the city’s longest-running and most interesting podcast. First up, Doris Sims makes a return engagement at the REMAX Properties East studios to talk about three September festivals — Hometown Rising, Bourbon and Beyond and Louder Than Life. We talk about how her employer, Danny Wimmer Presents, doubled down on the ‘Ville despite the disastrous weather that forced cancellation of most of two festivals down along the Ohio River last year. I learn about the new site across the street from the Fairgrounds, and Doris shares some behind-the-scenes stuff about the artists.
The buzz on the University of Louisville football team is decidedly reserved, and I bring in sports expert Gabe Duverge to fill us in on what to expect from new coach Scott Satterfield’s Cardinals. One thing to count on — a lopsided loss at Cardinal Stadium when Notre Dame comes to town Monday night. Duverge, who hosts his own podcast called “What High School Did You Go To?”, has followed U of L athletics closely since his days at Manual High School.
It’s a fun show that I was fortunate to put together on my 59th birthday, just before a round of golf at Glen Oaks Country Club and then a night on the town at Waterfront Wednesday. Thanks to my terrific sponsors for making the show possible: Passport Health Plan, the Eye Care Institute, Heuser Health and of course REMAX Properties East. And if you’re looking to buy or sell in the city’s active real estate market, check out my site for the Sokoler Team, or call me at 502-439-6391,
