Tom Mabe

There’s a lot of content on the Rusty Satellite this week, so let’s get right to it. My first guest is clean comedian Tom Mabe, whose YouTube channel is full of wonderfully executed pranks. Mabe made a name for himself with his Revenge of the Telemarketers CD, back in the days when we all answered our home phones and got repeated calls from businesses to see if we wanted to change our long-distance carrier. Mabe has built a great business with some good ole All-American clean jokes, and you can book him for your own event.

When I saw Winston Bennett a few months ago at a networking event, I was shocked to see him. But the 1983 Kentucky Mr. Basketball has come full circle, and now follows basketball as a fan and commentator in Louisville, where he represents a business insurance firm, Van Zandt, Emrich & Cary. Hear how he got to this point, and how he’s looking forward to cheering on his daughter, who will be a freshman on the U of L volleyball team next year.

The play to see in this year’s Humana Festival at Actors is “Glory of the World.” It features a fantastic cast and some incredible sights. I also have an opportunity to write about the changing media landscape, and did a piece for Insider Louisville about Suicide Prevention. I learned a lot about nutrition in a Heuser Health class. And, finally, the disappointing legislators of Kentucky ended their session without accomplishing much. It’s all in this week’s episode of The Rusty Satellite Show.
