While this weekend’s Bourbon and Beyond Festival is top of mind, another huge weekend is coming up in early November. It’s the Breeder’s Cup, and my Bourbon City Guests of the Week – Megan Devine and Tara Hipp Guenthner, — tell me this time there is so much more involved than any previous Breeder’s Cup, including Equestricon.
Rev. Kevin Cosby, a former Rusty Satellite guest, is in the news this after he made a video of an episode in which he was stopped in West Louisville by a police officer – for no apparent reason. Business First’s 40 Under 40 list was released, and on it was another ex-Rusty guest, Spuds potato chip founder John Good. The Huber Family in Starlight, Ind., announced it is putting the family farm up for sale, potentially ending a long-time pumpkin-picking tradition for many local families.
And a local group of business leaders just visited Denver, where they learned about all the ways that city is booming, partly as a result of the legalization of marijuana. They’re spending the extra cash on affordable housing options and public safety, while in Kentucky we struggle to pay our teachers the pension they’ve earned. But don’t tell the Governor, who still thinks pot is evil.
The show is brought to you every week by my friends at Passport Health Plan, Louisville Tourism, Heuser Health and the Eye Care Institute. Thanks for listening!
