A Selfie with William Mapother

Louisville native William Mapother is back home for IF Film, and stopped by to talk about acting and producing in Hollywood, the creepy characters he’s played in film and TV, and his loyalty to his hometown. My favorite is Delroy from Justified, who seems to be one of William’s too. He talks about the business of film and how he’s adapted to the industry’s demands, and even started a company that helps independent filmmakers find financiers.

When Scott Shreffler got his degree in English from U of L, he didn’t foresee that leading to a career promoting beer. But that’s what he does for Schlafly, the St. Louis brewer whose products you’ll find in an increasing number of nightspots in town. Later this month, Schlafly will sponsor the Bardstown Road Boo-Fest, a Halloween celebration that goes up and down Bardstown Road in the Highlands.

There’s plenty more to talk about, including two unfortunate incidents that have shaken up a lot of people around here — a gun incident at Fern Creek High School and a murder of a 12-year-old boy in Cherokee Park. There’s some media moves at Louisville Public Media and WLKY, and I tell you about meeting author Carl Hiaasen. Listen in for another great episode of the Rusty Satellite Show.
